MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION 8 Week Workshop Register
Mindfulness is the practice of cultivating non-judgmental awareness in day-to-day life.
Mindfulness develops the potential to experience each moment, no matter how difficult or intense, with serenity and clarity. One can feel more alive and gain immediate access to powerful inner resources for healing. Participants learn life-long tools to help maximize life, even in the midst of stress, pain and illness.
The Mindfulness–Based Stress Reduction Program is an intensive eight-week training to empower participants to take an active role in the management of their health and wellness. The classes meets weekly for 2.5 hours and there is an all-day session in the sixth week. Participants are asked to practice mindfulness meditation and/or mindful movement for 30-45 minutes a day with instructional CD’s.

Got Stress? Mindfulness Meditation promotes health and wellness through stress reduction. Mindfulness Meditation helps you cultivate a different relationship between you and the things that challenge you in your life.
In this 90-minute workshop you will learn the basics of Mindfulness Meditation; understand how it can decrease anxiety, depression and hostility and improve health and well being; and you will have an opportunity to experience Meditation for yourself.
Mindfulness Meditation, with regular practice, can be the foundation that helps you achieve and maintain health and harmony in daily living, even in the midst of stress, pain and illness.

What to bring: brown bag lunch, blanket and bottled water.
What to wear: layered, loose and comfortable clothing; a jacket or sweater for outdoor walking meditations (if desired), socks if your feet tend to get cold..
Coffee and tea will be provided.
Our Day-Long Retreat will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Girl Scouts Montrose Program Center. Although there is no charge for this event, you must register for this Day-Long Retreat at www.MontroseMindfulness.com. There will be an opportunity to make a voluntary donation to the MBSR / MBCT Scholarship Fund at the end of the retreat.
The Day-Long Retreat is an integral part of the 8-week MBSR course. It provides a wonderful opportunity to have extended guided practice within a community of other mindfulness students, practitioners and teachers. This retreat is for current MBSR class members, as well as those who have completed an 8-week MBSR / MBCT course.
The Girl Scouts Montrose Program Center is a large and tranquil setting and the perfect place to experience the retreat together.

Based on the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, this MBSR program is taught at major universities and teaching hospitals worldwide. Participants learn lifelong tools to achieve and maintain health and harmony in daily living, even in the midst of stress, pain and illness.
The MBSR class combines meditation, gentle yoga and group discussion in a supportive environment, empowering participants to actively manage their own health and wellness. The class meets weekly for 2.5 hours and there is an all-day session in the sixth week.

No matter where you find yourself with your ongoing practice, you are always welcome to join the MBSR Day-Long Retreats offered by Montrose Mindfulness. Because you have completed the MBSR / MBCT class, this Retreat is available to you at no charge. However, you must register for this Day-Long Retreat at www.MontroseMindfulness.com.
