Books and Materials about Mindfulness Meditation

Full Catastrophe Living by Jon Kabat-Zinn

This is the “textbook” for the MBSR classes at the UCSD Center for Mindfulness. However, it is intended to be a good overview of MBSR in general and provides guidance for those who prefer to explore the practice on their own, rather than in the class. It is widely available in most large bookstores, usually in the “Alternative Health” section, and is also easily obtained online at Amazon.com and other online booksellers. Practical chapters on various meditative practices lead into the larger issues of “dis-ease” in the political and social arena. Published by Hyperion ISBN: 0786867566 Suggested retail: $24.95
